All Conception Crew Members Were Sleeping When Boat Fire Broke Out, NTSB

Thursday, September, 12, 2019 (Los Angeles Times) – New information is being revealed in the investigation of the Conception boat blaze, the worst maritime disaster in modern California history. According to the National Transportation Safety Board, all of the Conception’s crew members were asleep when the boat caught fire. By federal law the boat is required to have a night watchman awake and on post to alert anyone of danger, yet no one was standing watch. The agency’s preliminary report said “at the time of the fire, five crewmembers were asleep in berths behind the wheelhouse, and one crewmember was asleep in the bunkroom.” “That’s a major breach of security…. If it’s possible, the captain at least ought to be held responsible.”

The Conception’s captain, Jerry Boylan, did not respond to a request for comment Thursday.

Officials suspect the 34 people who were killed died of smoke inhalation.

Los Angeles Lakers: The Historic Number That LeBron and AD Can Chase

Thursday, September 12, 2019 (Fansided) – No duo can quite match the force of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The two will be chasing a historic number in 2019. That number is 56. 56 is the bar set for combined points in any given game between the two players. That means separately they both have to score 28+ points a night to meet that desired goal. With the defensive ability of Davis and the stellar rebounding skills of LeBron, Lakers’ fans should be expecting them to reach that magic number 56.
