The Law Offices of Jacob Emrani Comments on What to Do After a Bus Accident

Do I Need to Notify the DMV If My Car Is Totaled in California

In the wake of a tour bus accident on Saturday, July 14, in downtown Los Angeles, which injured 25 people and left four in serious condition, The Law Offices of Jacob Emrani discuss what to do after a bus accident.

A bus accident victim should take pictures immediately after the incident. Photographs of the damage, accident scene and personal injuries provide direct evidence to include in a claim. Any information about the accident should be documented, including witness names, the bus company’s and driver’s name, and license information. All pertinent details should be supplied to an attorney as soon as possible.

Do not discuss the accident or case with anyone, as the facts may be refuted or distorted by another person or insurer. Also, details should not be revealed if phone calls are received. Note the name and phone number of the caller, who should be informed that an attorney will be in touch with them soon.

Under no circumstances should any papers, forms, reports, or statements be signed. Always call an attorney before talking to anyone else. We have experience aggressively taking on insurance companies and getting automobile and bus accident victims compensation they deserve. Knowledgeable about California personal injury law, we have recovered substantial amounts for clients injured due to another party’s negligence.

Tour Bus Accident in Los Angeles Injures 25 Passengers

On July 14, the tour bus collided with sand-filled buffers and a highway barrier before 4 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported, while traveling westbound on the 10 Freeway in Pico-Union. All westbound lanes on the highway were closed following the crash. In addition to four seriously injured victims, five people were hospitalized in fair condition and 16 in good condition, while seven individuals declined medical attention, according to an ABC7 report.

Los Angeles personal injury attorney can help clients get a maximum payout from an insurance company. This compensation can help pay for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and lost wages but only if the proper steps are taken after the accident.
