Jacob Emrani, founder and lead attorney at The Law Offices of Jacob Emrani, participated in the California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) annual CHiPs for Kids Christmas Toy Drive. It was held at Citadel Outlets in the City of Commerce from November 29 to December 19, 2025. This marks Jacob’s 10th year at the event, which started in 1988 and continues to grow.
The CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive is run by the CHP and KCAL News and supported by local leaders and community members. The initiative helps deliver toys to children and teens in need across Southern California. Tens of thousands of toys are collected each year, with the goal of bringing smiles to recipients and spreading hope, generosity, and holiday cheer.
Supporting Those in Need During the Holidays
Pat Harvey, a news anchor with KCAL, was also at this year’s event and expressed amazement at how much it has grown in her 36 years with CBS LA. Dan Keene, a CHP sergeant, expressed appreciation for the partnerships that have grown with the toy drive and for seeing people donate. In response to seeing Jacob Emrani, Keene said, “It just speaks volumes that [we] come together during this time to make sure that everyone has a happy holiday season.”
As part of the campaign, new, unwrapped toys were collected at drop-off locations, named ‘Santa’s Satellite Workshops’, set up across the Los Angeles area. Waste Management, a partner with the CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive, has been contributing to the event for 10 years. It set up 15 sites to help give back to the communities it serves.
Amber Lee, a meteorologist at CBS LA, said, “…I just love how our community comes out because not only do they donate toys, but we’ve seen families [drop off] Christmas presents to teach lessons to their kids, bring their own Christmas presents, and donate them for the good.”
“I feel like it’s not only a great message, but it’s also a learning lesson for everybody,” she added.
In sharing a contribution from his own childhood, Jacob said, “This was my favorite thing when I was young, getting a skateboard, and I hope it puts a smile on somebody else’s face.” He also expressed his enjoyment participating in the toy drive, stating, “I love doing this every year. . . . Lots of toys here, great cause, and it’s always great to be able to help people.”
