Kingsburg Personal Injury Attorney
Fresno County
Kingsburg keeps its own police department, yet most of the records that decide an injury claim here are held somewhere else: at a Highway Patrol office on East Fortune Avenue, at a trauma center in Fresno and at a courthouse on O Street. If you are looking for a Kingsburg personal injury attorney after a crash, a fall or another injury, this page sets out each office, what it keeps on file and how The Law Offices of Jacob Emrani (Call Jacob) puts those records to work for people hurt in and around this city of 13,249 (Census, 2025 estimate).

Kingsburg Police Department
A 2025 recruiting brochure describes a department of 25 sworn officers within a staff of 29, with patrol, traffic and school resource officers grouped under Field Operations (Kingsburg PD). Collisions on city streets, including the Swedish-style blocks downtown, are written up by this department.
- City officers and CHP officers both work the edge of town, so confirm whose case number is printed on the card you were handed.
- Kingsburg’s records staff cannot pull a report without that number, so keep it with your insurance papers.
Highway Patrol, Fresno Area (435)
A rollover at the Bethel Avenue exit or a collision on a vineyard road outside town is a Highway Patrol case. The CHP’s Fresno Area includes Kingsburg in its coverage and works out of an office at 1380 East Fortune Avenue, with officers responsible for more than 4,045 miles countywide (CHP).
Tip: After a crash on an on-ramp or a frontage road, check with both the city department and the CHP before concluding that nobody wrote a report.
Trauma care for Kingsburg patients
| Hospital | Where | Trauma level |
|---|---|---|
| Community Regional | Fresno | I |
| Kaweah Health | Visalia | III |
On the state’s August 2025 list, Community Regional Medical Center is the only adult Level I center in Fresno County, and Kaweah Health Medical Center sits across the line in Tulare County (EMSA). Ambulance crews choose by the severity of the injury. A Kingsburg patient taken to either one leaves behind a chart, imaging studies and an itemized bill, and those three records carry most of the damages case.
The B.F. Sisk Courthouse
Kingsburg lies on the Kings River about 21 miles from Fresno (Wikipedia), and an injury lawsuit from here travels that distance: the county’s Superior Court takes limited and unlimited civil filings at the Sisk building, 1130 O Street (Fresno County Superior Court).
Motorcyclists in the 2023 rankings
Kingsburg is one of 103 Group E cities in the OTS tables for 2023; its placings are below, with 1 as the worst (OTS).
| Category | Count | Rank |
|---|---|---|
| Motorcyclists | 4 | 16 |
| All victims | 19 | 71 |
| Speed-related crashes | 3 | 61 |
| Alcohol-involved victims | 2 | 67 |
| Composite | 73 |
4 of Kingsburg’s 19 recorded victims in 2023 were on motorcycles, roughly one in five, which is why riders are the one group where the city sits near the top of its list.
Those counts cover the crashes the city itself reported; the same OTS page shows 35 DUI arrests that year. A motorcycle claim usually comes down to whether the other driver looked before turning, and our motorcycle accident page describes how that defense is checked against skid marks, damage and witness accounts.
Two freeway crashes near town
Highway 99 traffic passes within sight of the 122-foot water tower shaped like a Swedish coffee pot, and the freeway’s crashes go to the CHP rather than into the city’s rankings above.
- Feb. 17, 2014, southbound 99 north of Sierra Avenue. CHP Officers Brian Law and Juan Gonzalez died around 6 a.m. when their patrol car swerved to miss a pickup stalled after an earlier spin-out, hit the guardrail and crashed; the southbound side was shut for roughly nine hours (NBC Los Angeles).
- Aug. 23, 2026, northbound 99 at the Bethel Avenue exit. A reckless driver in the fast lane struck the back of a Honda Pilot, which rolled off the highway; two occupants went to the hospital with minor injuries and the CHP booked the driver for DUI (ABC30).
When a semi or delivery truck appears in a 99 crash report, our truck accident page lists the driver logs and carrier records worth requesting.
What Kingsburg clients ask us
Where do I get the report for a crash on 99 by the Bethel exit?
Because 99 is a state highway, crash reports near the Bethel exit are written and stored by the CHP’s Fresno Area on East Fortune Avenue, not at Kingsburg City Hall. Off the freeway and inside town, it is a Kingsburg Police Department case.
Will my case be heard in Kingsburg or in Fresno?
In Fresno. Civil filings for the whole county go to the Sisk Courthouse on O Street, although most injury claims resolve before anyone sets foot in a courtroom.
A driver turned left across my motorcycle and says he never saw me. Is that a defense?
Not by itself. Drivers have the same duty to look for a motorcycle as for a car, and a rider who shares some blame still recovers a reduced amount.
My mother fell at a downtown shop during the festival. Who pays for her injury?
Whoever controlled that floor or sidewalk, which may be the shop, the property owner or the festival’s organizers. Photos of the hazard and the names of employees who saw the fall help settle that question.
The driver who hit me was booked for DUI. Do I have to wait for the criminal case?
No. Your injury claim can move forward at once, and the CHP’s arrest paperwork and test results serve as evidence of fault in it.
Bethel Avenue and Mountain View Avenue
When the Fresno Council of Governments looked for sample sites for its 2021 Regional Safety Plan, it picked the signal at Bethel and Mountain View and drew a concept design for that Kingsburg-area crossing, basing its choices on crash severity from 2015 through 2019 (Fresno COG). For someone hurt there, that study is useful background on what planners already knew, though fault is still proven from the evidence of the crash itself.
Swedish Festival weekend and harvest season
The Swedish Festival falls on the third weekend of May and includes a parade (Wikipedia). People walking between parked cars and vendor booths are the ones most exposed that weekend, and a fall at a shop or a festival site raises questions of who controlled the spot: the merchant, the landlord or the organizer.
The farmland around town grew raisin and table grapes for decades and was partly replanted to stone fruit after the 2002 raisin price collapse. During harvest, farm trucks and slow equipment share the two-lane roads outside Kingsburg, where the CHP takes the reports.
Deadlines that apply here
| Against | Deadline | Code |
|---|---|---|
| Private party | 2 years | §335.1 |
| Public agency | 6 months | §911.2 |
| Property only | 3 years | §338 |
Which agency receives the six-month claim, the City of Kingsburg, Fresno County or Caltrans, depends on who owns the pavement where you were hurt. Separate tolling rules apply to anyone under 18, and blame shared between a Kingsburg driver and the person hurt is split by percentage, which lowers an award without erasing it (CACI 405).
Working with a Kingsburg personal injury attorney
Riders injured on Kingsburg streets and commuters caught in Highway 99 wrecks near the Bethel Avenue exit are among the people Call Jacob represents here. Kingsburg car accident cases make up part of that work; the rest includes semi-truck collisions on 99, motorcycle wrecks, pedestrian and bicycle injuries near downtown, falls inside local businesses on festival weekend or any other day, dog bites, and wrongful death claims for families who lost someone on the freeway.
On a Kingsburg file we pull the report from the city department or the CHP’s Fortune Avenue office, request the chart from Community Regional or Kaweah Health, check the Bethel and Mountain View study when the crash happened there, and present any claim to the City of Kingsburg or Fresno County inside its six-month window.
The consultation is free, a Kingsburg client owes no retainer or hourly bill, and the firm’s fee is taken from a settlement or verdict at the end of the case. A representative can drive out to your house in Kingsburg or to a bedside at Community Regional, and the first step is a call to (888) 952-2952, the online case evaluator or the Spanish site at calljacob.com/es.
