Glendora Personal Injury Attorney

Los Angeles County

Glendora’s worst-ranked crash category is speed: the Office of Traffic Safety logged 32 speed-related injury crashes on its streets in 2023, a 30th-place result among 103 comparable cities (OTS 2023). In all, 215 were hurt, ranked 31st. If you were one of them, the order in which you do things over the next three days matters more than most people expect. Below is that sequence, set against the Glendora agencies, hospitals and streets involved, the way a Glendora personal injury attorney walks a new client through it.

The first three days, hour by hour

Each stage below names the Glendora office, hospital or street that matters at that point, and what to do there before the next stage begins.

On the road, minutes after impact

Which officer arrives depends on the road. Inside city limits, crashes on streets like Grand Avenue, Arrow Highway and Lone Hill Avenue belong to the city’s own police force (city overview). The interchange where I-210 meets SR-57, once nicknamed the “Glendora Curve,” is freeway, and freeway collisions are Highway Patrol cases. The business card the officer hands you names the agency; a photo of it is enough.

Other 2023 OTS figures for Glendora, for context:

  • Motorcyclists: 11 hurt (44th)
  • Bicyclists: 12 hurt (53rd)
  • Pedestrians: 8 hurt (76th)
  • Hit-and-run: 6 crashes (80th)

None of those categories ranks as high as speed, which is why the speed of the other car is usually the first thing we examine.

Up in the foothills, Glendora Mountain Road and Glendora Ridge Road carry road cyclists and sightseers into the San Gabriel Mountains and have hosted stages of the Tour of California (city overview). There may be no cross street to name on those curves. A turnout, a mile marker or a dropped pin on your phone will let an investigator find the exact bend later.

That evening, in the emergency room

Two hospitals sit inside Glendora: Foothill Presbyterian and Glendora Community Hospital (city overview). Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, a state-designated Level II trauma center, is where the ambulance may go instead for the worst injuries (EMSA).

Describe every symptom to the triage nurse and the physician, even a stiff neck or a headache that seems too small to mention. Months later an adjuster will read that chart line by line, and a complaint first recorded at a follow-up visit is easier to dispute than one noted the night of the crash. If you were taken to one hospital and then transferred to another, request the records from both.

The morning after

Watch out: Restaurants and shops on Glendora Avenue, the downtown strip known as Glendora Village, often keep only a short loop of camera footage. A written request this week can save video that would otherwise disappear.

First, the report number. Glendora maintains 55 signalized intersections and is investing in new hardware for aging signal equipment (City of Glendora); if you suspect a light was dark, stuck or flashing, note the intersection and the time while the memory is fresh.

Day two and the other insurer

The adjuster for the driver who hit you may sound friendly and may ask to record the conversation. That request can wait until a lawyer has seen your medical records, and you are under no duty to say yes.

What to collect in the meantime:

  • Pharmacy receipts
  • Mileage to appointments
  • Pay stubs
  • Photos of bruising, day by day

When the driver at fault carries little or no insurance, the underinsured or uninsured motorist portion of your own policy may decide how much you recover. Riders hurt in an Uber or Lyft face a stack of separate policies, and our Uber accident page sorts out which one applies when. A passenger in a friend’s car on Arrow Highway may also be covered by that friend’s own policy, so ask about it before assuming there is no coverage.

Checking for city or transit involvement

By day three it is worth asking a different question: did anything the City of Glendora, Metro or a bus operator controls play a part?

Crosswalks and Safe Streets requests. Glendora’s Safe Streets Program lets residents request signage, quick-build safety changes and street closures, under an ordinance and a 2024 policy, with review by a Traffic Safety Advisory Committee (City of Glendora). Its first quick-build, finished in December 2025, is a high-visibility crosswalk with curb extensions at Minnesota Avenue and Foothill Boulevard beside the La Fetra Senior Center. Signs warning of frequent pedestrians now stand on Country Club Drive.

The A Line and Foothill Transit. Glendora gained a Metro A Line station on September 19, 2025, part of the Foothill extension to Pomona. Foothill Transit runs local routes and express service to downtown Los Angeles, and the city operates a Mini Bus and Dial-A-Ride (city overview).

Metro, Foothill Transit and City Hall all follow the Government Claims Act, which gives an injured person six months to present a written claim (§911.2).

Treatment, wages and the longer deadlines

Follow the treatment plan your doctors set, and keep the appointments even on good days. Citrus College was the city’s top employer in 2018, with 807 employees (city overview); a staff member or student hurt on the way to campus should keep class and work records alongside the medical ones.

The two-year period in §335.1 governs a suit against the driver or a business. Venue in Los Angeles County follows a judicial-district system adopted by the Superior Court in May 2024 (LASC order), and the district for any particular Glendora street is something we verify in the court’s locator rather than assume. Fault can also be divided. Hypothetical example: a driver who glanced at a phone just before being rear-ended at Grand and Foothill is assigned 10% of the blame; that driver’s recovery drops by 10% (CACI 405).

Our approach to a Glendora claim

The Law Offices of Jacob Emrani (Call Jacob) represents people hurt in Glendora, including drivers struck on the Route 66 stretch of Foothill Boulevard, riders knocked down on Glendora Mountain Road and seniors crossing near La Fetra. For each Glendora case we investigate the crash ourselves: we obtain the police or CHP report, send preservation letters to Glendora Village merchants and check whether the location is part of a Safe Streets request or a signal upgrade.

Foothill riders’ bicycle and motorcycle crashes, pedestrians struck in the Foothill Boulevard crosswalks, A Line commuters hit near the station, and car and auto accident claims from Foothill Boulevard to Lone Hill Avenue are all part of our Glendora practice, along with rideshare and Foothill Transit injuries, dog bites, store falls and wrongful death claims.

If you need a Glendora car accident lawyer, the first conversation is free and happens wherever suits you, at home in North Glendora or at Pomona Valley if you are still admitted. There is a fee only if the case is won. Our number is (888) 952-2952. Families who prefer to write first can describe the Glendora crash on our online case evaluator, and Spanish speakers will find the firm’s information at calljacob.com/es.

Glendora questions, answered briefly

The crash happened at the 210 and 57 interchange. Which agency wrote it up?

The Highway Patrol, in nearly every case, because the interchange is part of the freeway system. City officers cover the surface streets around it.

A car drifted into my lane on Glendora Ridge Road while I was riding. What should I save?

Keep these in their damaged condition:

  • The bike and helmet
  • Your riding computer or phone
  • Names of riders in your group

Ride data from a phone or bike computer can show your speed and line through the curve.

My father was hit in the new crosswalk on Foothill. Does the crosswalk help him?

It confirms where drivers were expected to yield. The driver’s speed and attention remain the main questions.

I was hurt in the parking area at the Glendora A Line station. Who would be responsible?

That depends on the cause. A driver who backed into you is responsible through that driver’s insurance, while a defect in the station’s paving or lighting may point to the transit agency, which brings the six-month claim rule into play.

A city truck hit me. Is the deadline different?

Yes, and it is much shorter. Six months, measured from the injury, and medical treatment that is still going on does not stop it.
